calligraphy, colours and music
The following designs are painted with acrylic or alcohol based markers on transparent plastic ( wrapping paper for flowers ! ) - an economical way of planning future stained glass windows.
detail
I use 2 transparent sheets,
one for the background lozenges
and the other for the text.
Distance between transparents : 3 cm.
Text : Ave Maria, gratia plena,
Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu
in mulieriblus.
Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women.
The outside world remains partly visible through this kind of "stained glass", it is not shut out; everyday reality is thus coloured by prayer,
and creation is filled with words of admiration for the Creator.
The same window seen in the shade : the lozenges remain bright, while the colours of the text darken.
50 cm x 70 cm
text : Pater noster,
qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Our Father ,
who art in heaven ,
hallowed be thy name.
Same technique as the previous window, with a 3 cm space between the two transparent sheets.
50 cm x 70 cm
detail
Experiment using 3 layers of transparents. Distance between each sheet : 3 cm.
Total depth of window : 8 cm
81 cm x 55 cm.
text : Gloria Patri et Filio
et Spiritui Sancto.
Spiritui Sancto comes out as green
in the shade, but the sunshine
brings out its true yellow.
